truth paste review
A lifetime of coffee, cigarettes, red wine and poor life choices have left my pearly whites, well, a little less than pearly white. I tried everything from charcoal toothpastes, homemade bicarb and lemon recipes - even teeth whitening kits - but nothing worked for me. I'm pretty tough on my toothbrushes and many people have poked fun at my ability to destroy even the hardest toothbrush in less than 6 weeks. But even with my mighty tooth-brushing prowess I couldn't solve the problem of yellowing teeth. So I gave up, resigning myself instead to working on over coming the self consciousness that a less than perfect smile often brings. But then I met my amazing girlfriend who has been using Truthpaste ever since she discovered that it heals sore gums. So we both swear by it now - her because it's kind to her mouth and me because a few weeks after being introduced to Truthpaste, I had a new, bright-white smile.

But apart from happy gums and the sparkling, painfree teeth that are on their way to you once you start using Truthpaste, there's also a seemingly endless list of other great reasons to love this natural mineral toothpaste.

  • Every jar is handmade using 100% natural ingredients with no triclosan, SLS or artificial chemicals
  • Ingredients are ethically sourced and Truthpaste products support a wide range of global communities
  • All Truthpaste products are registered Vegan and certified Cruelty Free by the Vegan Society
  • Truthpaste is created in a waste & plastic free environment
  • Truthpaste jars are recyclable, reusable and refillable and they offer a recycling scheme for their jars
  • Truthpaste labels and packaging are all compostable and/or reusable

What is Truthpaste? Truthpaste is UK based company that makes a 100% natural mineral toothpaste. The toothpaste uses the abrasive qualities of mineral clay to clean your teeth, rather than unnatural foaming agents or chemicals that can be harmful to the environment.

What is Truthpaste made of? Truthpaste uses the natural properties of botanical ingredients to help fight the bacteria that can cause tooth decay and gum disease. A full list of ingredients (and their properties) can be found on the Truthpaste website.

Who makes Truthpaste? Truthpaste was founded by Marisa Battrick in response to her own struggles with toothache and the agonising pain that teeth often cause us. We love Marisa's honest and heartfelt bio that tells the story of a product designed as a solution first and foremost and a business second. What started out as a small scale operation run from her own home has now grown into a lab in the heart of Brighton, England.

Is Truthpaste vegan? Absolutely! All of their products are registered Vegan and Cruelty Free by the Vegan Society. To quote directly from their website 'We don’t believe in harming animals for health and beauty. We test on ourselves!'.

What Truthpaste flavours are available?
  • Peppermint and winter green
  • Fennel
  • Sweet orange
  • Mild mint
I've tried every flavour and for me the fennel is too strong. But that's just a matter of personal taste. I'm not a huge fan of fennel generally, plus I think I use too much Truthpaste on my brush when only a very small amount is needed! That said I definitely prefer the peppermint and winter green which is a milder, more enjoyable flavour for me personally. The sweet orange and mild mint have been designed especially with kids in mind and the care and attention to making the product more appealing for children is a nice touch.

Where can I buy Truthpaste? A list of stockists and physical retail outlets is available on their website, but you can also order the product online directly from Truthpaste. I generally buy it in bulk to minimise the environmental impact of shipping as much as possible.
